Beverley Town Cricket Club 4th XI produced another excellent performance to secure a runners-up place in the East Yorkshire Cricket Alliance Division One at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
After bowling out Cottingham for just 137 Town’s opening pair of veteran RJ Thompson and Under 15 player Kieran Simpson made a light work of the target by producing an unbeaten 140-run partnership to give Town a maximum 20 points.
Both batsmen made half centuries, Thompson for the seventh time this season while Simpson recorded his first 50 in senior cricket.
The Beverley performance saw some superb fielding with several run outs on a day where the side reinforced their position as Town’s outstanding Saturday side in 2013.
