Local Runners Take On Hardmoors Princess Ultra Run

For the second week in a row members took on some serious distance as a small group took on the Hardmoors Princess 30.

This is part of the Hardmoors series of ultra runs. The race starts at Ravenscar and is an anti-clockwise loop, taking in Hayburn Wyke, Cloughton, Robin Hood’s Bay, Whitby (including the 189 steps up to Whitby Abbey!) and then back to Ravenscar down the old railway line and Cleveland Way.

It was a very blustery day but the race took place in great weather overall.

Steve Jackson did an impressive time in such conditions of just over 5 hours. was delighted with his 1st ever ‘ultra’, completed in 5:56.

A number of Beverley AC members are branching out into ultra runs over distances well in excess of the 26.2 miles of a usual marathon and this event is one of a few that are being taken on this year.
