Due to launch on 30th August, bookings are already being taken for those eager to be the first to try this new dining experience.
The extensive modern Indian menu has been designed by celebrity head chef, KK Anand, who intends to source products locally and evolve the menu regularly to ensure a constantly unique dining experience. Every dish is freshly prepared in an open spaced kitchen for diners to see the talented chefs at work. Tapasya will offer a first class dining experience and is already attracting interest from foodies across Yorkshire.
The Beverley Road restaurant is complemented by a fully licenced bar with a wide selection of champagnes, wines, and speciality cocktails, both traditional and Indian. There is a private dining suite for up to 16 guests, complete with a dedicated host and waiters, and a chef’s table seating six, allowing guests to experience the vibrant kitchen from a prime position in the restaurant.
Tapasya will also introduce its own range of branded wine and a sommelier will be on hand to offer advice on how to ensure wine choices complement every flavour. With intricate Indian interior and exterior, the restaurant has its own luxurious seating area outside as well as private booths for special occasions.
Mukesh Tirkoti, Managing Director of Tapasya, has extensive experience of leading highly acclaimed 5-star hotels and restaurants in India, Moscow and London. He is confident that the establishment will become a culinary destination, and said:
“Our team have come from the local area, London restaurants and across the globe and everyone is highly experienced and dedicated to ensuring that every customer has the ultimate dining experience. Whether guests come for a drink, a business lunch, a private celebratory dinner, or to experience our exquisite banquet complete with wines, we are certain that they won’t have experienced anything like it in the region.”
Mukesh’s ambitions don’t end there though, as he explained: “We want to bring Indian fine dining to Hull and create a restaurant that the area can be proud of. Ultimately, we plan to bring a Michelin star to the city within a year.”
Tapasya also plans to employ local staff and train them in modern Indian food, which is great news for chefs in the region.
Partnering with Mukesh on this exciting initiative is Mr Tapan Mahapatra, owner and Financial Director of Tapasya, who is best known in the region for his outstanding contributions in his medical career as a Consultant Onco-plastic Breast Surgeon at Castle Hill Hospital, in Cottingham for over 15 years, with over 30 years of service in the NHS in total. Most recently, he was nominated for both ‘The Pride of East Yorkshire 2013’ awards by Hull Daily Mail sponsored by Hull City Council and the ‘Golden Hearts 2013 awards’ by the Hull & East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
His love of Indian food and passion to create an Indian fine dining restaurant for the region inspired him to invest in Tapasya. He said “this is the culmination of his long-standing desire to provide the ultimate experience for everyone, of an authentic, contemporary Indian cuisine, the kind of which is of the first of it’s kind in Hull or surrounding areas”.
A launch event will be held on 29th August and advance bookings are being taken for lunch and dinner from Friday 30th August, although some dates are already almost full.
