Jack The Ripper: The Beverley Connection Talk At The Treasure House

Treasure House

Did Jack the Ripper visit Beverley? This fascinating talk will look at two previously named suspects with links to Beverley, plus two scares that made the local and national press, when the local and press were urging the public to be on the look out for the notorious Whitechapel murderer.

This talk will be delivered by the well-known Ripperologist, Mike Covell, and will include press reports from 1891 and 1894 as well as a host of primary sources.

The illustrated talk will be held in the Treasure House Education Room at 6.30pm on Thursday, 5 September. Tickets cost £5 each and booking is essential.

This is the latest in year-long programme of talks at the Treasure House, in Beverley. Talks often sell-out very quickly as spaces are limited, so should book as soon as possible.

There are three ways to book tickets online at www.eastriding.gov.uk/events, visit the Archives and Local Studies Research Room desk on the ground floor of the Treasure House or call booking service on (01482) 392699/392706.

A full brochure of lectures, events, exhibitions and family activities at the Treasure House in 2013 is now available to collect from the venue.
