Fire Service Wash Motors To Raise Money For Charity

Fire-fighters from Humberside Fire and Rescue Service based in Fire Station have spent the day washing cars and buses.

Motorists were invited to have their cars cleaned and make a donation of their choice with all proceeds being donated to the Fire-Fighters Charity.

Alongside the fire-fighters were their children who were helping with cleaning and also selling hats and collecting donations from passers by.

A large coach was also washed with each of the passengers on board pledging a donation of £1 each. The driver of the coach rolled up his sleeves to pitch in!

Beverley Fire Station will next open their doors to the public on the 3rd August from midday when they hold their ever popular annual open day.

The open day gives members of the public a chance to get up close to appliances used. The event also features demonstrations and hands-on activities suitable for all ages.
