Free Taster Courses During Adult Learners’ Week

A range of free activities will be taking place at later this month for adults who are thinking of learning for their career or as a hobby.

The classes are to be held as part of Adult Learners’ Week, which runs from May 18 to 24 and encourages adults of all ages to learn something new with a view to going on to further study.

There will be activities in brickwork, joinery, plastering, music, access to higher education, literacy and numeracy, art and design, and hairdressing across the campuses in Gallows Lane, Beverley, and St Mary’s Walk, , and the site in St James Street, Hull.

Guidance services manager Melanie Brown said: “Adult Learners’ Week is the UK’s largest annual celebration of learning and involves thousands of events and activities nationwide.

“These free taster classes are an excellent opportunity to dip your toe in the water and see if you would like to take it to the next level by accessing one of our wide range of courses starting in September, whether it’s as a hobby or to improve your CV with a formal qualification.”

To book a place, call 0845 120 0037 or email info@eastridingcollege.ac.uk as soon as possible as places for each session are limited.
