Professional Graduate Acquires The Institute Of Leadership and Management

WO2 GCMI, PGCE, QTLS is the Regimental Catering Warrant Officer (RCWO) Class 2 at the Defence School of Transport, Leconfield.

He is employed in the Regimental Quartermasters Department, as the Deputy Supervising Contracts Officer working alongside Sodexo.

Last year, he graduated from Huddersfield University after two year’s of study (whilst in service) as a trainee teacher in the Lifelong Learning Sector and has also gained QTLS teacher status from the Institute for Learning (IFL).

As a proactive NVQ Assessor Darren decided to enhance his professional skills further and by completing 2 additional modules and undertaking a 4 day course under the tuition of the Staff Training Team at DST, WO2 Martin-Chambers gained the ILM L5 certificate in Coaching and Mentoring.

Darren Martin-Chambers said, “Gaining the ILM L5 award has certainly provided me with the skills and knowledge to develop my practice, and become a stronger and more confident coach and mentor.

“It has also given me an excellent opportunity to enhance my Continual Professional Development (CPD) and it will allow me to enhance the career prospects of other instructors and trainers when re-entering civilian life and also give me the chance to give something back to my profession”.

Darren has served at the Defence School of Transport for 14 months and is shortly due to be posted in August 2013 on promotion to Warrant Officer Class One in his new appointed role as the Food Services Warrant Officer. Well done Darren and congratulations on your recent promotion.
