Rick Roberts Hair Salon Came Out Shining!

Rick Roberts Salon are feeling extremely proud of their team after their expertise in fashion led hairdressing won over a panel of acclaimed judges in a National live hairdressing competition. The team are now just one step away from winning the L’Oréal Professionnel Colour Trophy Award.

On Tuesday 9th April the Leeds Royal Armouries venue played host to an exciting evening of fashion inspired hairdressing and the high-energy competition. Rick Roberts and Sian Sunman from Rick Roberts Salon created a stunning model look in just 45 heart racing minutes that not only impressed the judges but propelled them up to the next stage shaking off stiff competition from 60 other salons in the North East region.

The L’Oréal Colour Trophy regional tour swept through UK visiting seven regions and attracted some of the country’s most talented competitors and fashion hungry followers. Over 455 salons nationwide gained a place in the live competition yet only 42 will make it to the Grand Final. Each of the salon teams were requested to create an overall model look that flawlessly merged a well-executed haircut, inspirational hair colour alongside editorially inspired clothes styling [and make-up] that reflected awareness of key trends from the Autumn / Winter 2013/14 runway collections.

Celebrity host Zoe Hardman of ITV2s Take me out: The Gossip took the audience through the live hairdressing action during the competition right through to thrilling catwalk show by London Fashion Week designers Fyodor Golan and onto the exhilarating award announcement.

We are really pleased our hard work has paid off and we are going to compete against some of the top salons in the country. This is something we have been working towards for a long time.

Having now secured their place in the elite group of grand finalists, Rick Roberts Salon now will prepare to join the UK’s most talented hairdressers on Monday 3rd June during the 58th annual L’Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final in the dazzling Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.

The glamorous awards event is a truly stylish affair with over 1000 of the industries most accomplished figures all brought together to celebrate ‘Hair Inspired by Fashion’. Both Rick Roberts Salon team and the audience will have a tense wait to see who will take home hairdressing most established and coveted trophy.
