Government To Give More Money For Primary School Sport

The Prime Minister has announced a £150 million Olympic legacy fund to improve the quality of sports provision in every state primary school in England.

Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, said,

“This announcement is great for primary schools across East Yorkshire who will each receive a share of over one million pounds allocated for the County.”

“Head teachers will have the freedom to decide how to spend the money as they are the ones on the front-line who know their children and their needs best.”

“The money can only be spent on improving sporting provision such as hiring sports coaches and purchasing equipment.”

“I hope this initiative will introduce children to fun ways to be active from an early age and spark a lifetime’s pleasure in taking part in sports and exercise, which is so important to good health and well-being, whatever your age”.
