Soundclash : Beverley Based Bands Get Their Chance To Showcase Talents

Last summer the Urban Impact Creative Arts Youth Festival showcased some of the great talent in Beverley. The demand was so great to perform that we ran out of space in the programme.

Thanks to funding from Beverley Town Council we are pleased to announce that we will be running a bands showcase event run by young for young people.

The event will feature five Beverley based bands and artists with the evening being held together by local DJ and Producer Barney Oram. The bands involved are , Plinth95, Operator?, The Priority and Bonjour Pete.

It will be held at Beverley War Memorial Hall on 15th March with doors opening at 7pm and the first band on at 7:30pm. During the evening will be a non alcoholic bar with the event finishing at approximately 9:30pm. Tickets are priced at £4 and are available from the bands directly. Remaining tickets will be available on a first come first served basis on the door.

Not only are young bands playing but young entrepreneurs AFC Entertainment and SL Recording will be proving the PA & lighting for the event with SL Recording also taking a recording of the performances and producing a CD for the event.

“We are involved just for pure love of music. We wish to bring back rock into the todays world. Events such as this is a good opportunity to showcase our talents along with other great acts. Also it gives us a chance to get ourselves a name around the local area, events such as this make a massive difference.” Jack Hargrave – Falling Fearlessly

“We believe it’s a great chance to play our music and a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of local musical talent” Sam Connolly – Bonjour Pete

“Soundclash is an important event as it provides a great opportunity for young people to be able to perform on a stage in front of friends and to build up a local fan base” Seb Hulse SL Recording.

“I’m involved because i love music, especially live performances, and i love giving young people the opportunity to perform live! That doesn’t happen all that often in towns like Beverley.”

“I think developing that sense of community through music is great, people can just come, chill out, and listen to their mates play!” Barney Oram, Soundclash planner & host

“We are grateful to Beverley Town Council to helping fund this venture. Music is such a great way for young people to express themselves in a positive way and we are excited about creating a safe environment where they can do that in front of friends.”

“I’m also excited that not only do we have young bands performing but we are also able to help support local young entrepreneurs as they seek to get more established locally and develop their skills. This event provides a great learning experience for all young people involved and will be a top night for all who come along.”
