DST Staff Collect Their awards At Beverley Minster

Members of staff from the have recently received their awards in PGCE and Cert Ed at the Minster.

These qualifications are not a mandated requirement for teaching at DST, however, instructors looking for personal development will find this an invaluable path to enhance their knowledge, skills and raise their potential.

The PGCE and CertEd courses are spread over a 2 year period and involve evening and weekend working and formal work based observations.

There are 4 modules per year, covering topics such as: Planning to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector, Theories and Principles of Teaching, Developing Specialist Skills Assessment for Learning, Curriculum Design & Development.

Bishop Burton College delivers the courses on behalf of the Universities of and Huddersfield. During the last 10 years the school has built a long standing relationship with the college and at one time had over 45 students attending courses their.
