Anthony Posa : We Need To Perform Well To Obtain Any Reward

Despite their comparatively low league position, Malton pushed the all the way in the corresponding fixture at last September, only finally succumbing in the final quarter of the match and were unfortunate not to, at least, gain a bonus point from it.

Head coach said today,

“They are one of the better organised teams that we have played this season, and they have recruited a couple of key players since.”

“We know that we will need to perform well to obtain any reward on Saturday. Being in the position that we are, we understand that we are there to be shot at and Malton, being such close neighbours, will be delighted to upset our apple cart.”

“We have a lot of uncertainty about our selection for this week. We have a few niggly injuries and a couple of un-availabilities. Although I expect most of the niggles to have cleared up, it looks as though back row man James Holland will be out for a few weeks yet. Richard Bussey will not be fit to return until the end of the month following his bad concussion received in early December.”

“Add to this the departure from the club of Fraley Hopa and , both left to take up employment away from the area, and it is obvious that , despite starting the season with a healthily strong squad with cover in most positions; I am now having some more troublesome selection problems.”

However, on the brighter side, Nathan Sharp, Chris Infield, and Francis Pickering, all key first team players, should all be back in the next couple of weeks.”

Beverley will select from the following this Thursday night at training:-

L.Birch, G.Jelencic, S.Atiola, J.Tupai (capt), T.Tanumi, P.Duboulay, S.Allen, R.Smith, D.Riches, M.Kirkwood, S.Kerry, K.Renwick, A.Ogilvie, M.Hatfield, F.Pickering, M.Adams, S.Nel, G.Gibson, D.Worrall, J.Pickets, N.Sharp, T.Riby-French, C.Bradshaw
