Hundreds Of Beverley People Attend Protest To Save The Setts

Hundreds of people have again taken to the streets of Beverley to protest against East Riding of Yorkshire Councils plans to renovate .

People of all ages led by a piper carried placards and banners as they looked to hammer home their message to .

Some of the banners called for people not to re-elect councillors and also accused the council of not listening to the people of the town.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has agreed to meet with the Beverley Civic Society on the 7th January just seven days before the bulldozers are due to move in.

  1. Just heard about the ‘Setts’ on the Local News. I can’t believe it. The council have lost there minds – what do they think attracts visitors and residents to Beverley? – Great heritage! Losing the cobble stones would be a disaster!
    You have my full support. Let me know if there is anything I can do. I would even be prepared to be involved in any direct action to help prevent this act of vandalism.
