Second Time Lucky As Derby Gets Green Light

has confirmed their Humber Premier League match against local rivals this Saturday will go ahead.

Last weekend, the sides were due to meet in the first of Christmas double header but pitch inspections at Hodgons home ground, Bishop Burton College saw the game being postponed.

Town are keen to play this game and are hot favourites to win the match and extend their lead at the top of the league.

The Tanners come into the game off the back an impressive 4 – 1 win over Bransholme Athletic and also with the added confidence of beating Town last season at Norwood 3 – 1.

Beverley Town Manager Dave Ricardo is eager to reverse last seasons result saying;

“Everything here has changed since last season, we have new players and staff, and although I expect a good game, I am confident we can get the result.”

In his programme notes ahead of the game Ricardo thanks the fans for their support and he is hoping they will turn out in force to support team this Saturday.

He said;

“I can no thank the supporters enough this season. It makes a real difference to myself and the players. “

“We are hoping for a big gate on Saturday to watch the game the game between Beverley’s two biggest clubs playing it the top local league.”

“As a side we are very keen on overturning last years result and come away from the match with all three points and consolidate our position at the top of the Humber Premier League.”

Victory for Town on Saturday the would see them open up a six-point lead over title rivals North Cave, providing the perfect start to 2013.

Kick off on Saturday at Norwood is 2pm, everybody is welcome.
