Annie Reed Road Delivery Office Open For Business

Graham Stuart, Member of Parliament for Beverley & Holderness, visited Royal Mail’s Beverley delivery office in Annie Reed Road to pass on Christmas wishes and encouragement to the postmen and women at their busiest time of year.

Graham said, “Postmen and women do such an important job, especially at this time of year. I wanted to thank them for their efforts and wish them all the best over the busy festive period. I was full of admiration at the speed and efficiency with which the huge volume of letters, cards and parcels were being dispatched.

“Many constituents contacted me recently to let me know that the Delivery Office had shut the gates to its yard, stopping them from parking there while they collect their undelivered items.

“I took up this issue with Royal Mail and let them know that this problem had to be sorted out, and quickly, especially as this month people are looking forward to receiving Christmas parcels. It is excellent news that Royal Mail has listened to my constituents and they will be making parking available in the Delivery Office yard from 10am each day. This all adds up to a happier Christmas for everybody.”

, Royal Mail Delivery Office Manager at Beverley said: “Christmas is the busiest time of year for Royal Mail. Our people really do pull out all the stops throughout the year to ensure mail is delivered quickly, but even more so over the busy festive period. We are grateful that came along to see the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.”
