Beverley Whitestar Bulldogs came within seconds of registering their first league win of the season in Hull Boys Sunday Football League.
Leading 2 – 1 with less than a minute in the game remaining the Bulldogs conceded a free kick on the edge of their box.
The shot that followed flew over the wall and past the outstretched Beverley Whitestar keeper before finding the top corner.
Defeat leaves Whitestar routed to the bottom of the Hull Boys Sunday League U16 Myton League. Had they held out for all three points the Bulldogs would have climbed six places in the table.
The Bulldogs will get to put their feet up over Christmas before returning to action in mid January when they host Costello Cobras at Longcroft School.
