United’s Girls Progress In League Cup

On a cold, wet & miserable morning Mill Lane Blues travelled to Brayton for the first round of the East Riding Girls Football .

Football has and always will be a team game and in difficult playing conditions Mill Lane United and Brayton both produced hard-working team performances. In fairness 99% of the play was confined to the home end as Mill Lane dominated possession with their forwards linking well and creating scoring opportunities for each other.

However, thanks to some superb goal keeping and determined defending Brayton managed to restrict the visitors to only three first-half goals.

The second half saw Mill Lane continue to press forward, and inevitably, they extended their lead with ending with five goals, Demi Watson two and , released from her goal keeping duties for the last 15 minutes netting her first of the season.

Once more, credit must go to Brayton who continued to battle; however, it was Mill Lane that progressed to the quarter finals where they will face Brayton’s older club mates.

Managers Player of the match was awarded to , who produced a classy display at full back, while the Parents award went to Amy Dodds, who was in scintillating form especially in the first half.

Final Score: Brayton Belles Blues 0 Mill Lane United Blues 8
