Hancock Banned For Yorkshire Cup Tie Against Wheatley

Following their emphatic win at former league leaders Wheatley Hills last Saturday, Beverley return to Yorkshire Cup action this weekend against the same opponents but this time at .

The winners of Saturday’s tie will go on to meet the winners of Hull RUFC v Keighley, throwing up the prospect of a tasty local derby match if both Beverley and Hull should prevail.

The Beavers hope to have pretty much the same squad as last week available with the exception of Craig Hancock who is suspended following his red card at Wheatley Hills. Head Coach said today,

“Obviously we will miss Craig but it is club policy to take this action following a player’s dismissal.”

“However, first choice centre is fit to return to action as is regular first team lock Matty Adams. We will see how things go in training on Thursday night before making our final selection.”

“I would like the opportunity to have another look at one or two of our fringe first team players such as young Stuart Nel and Lovro Sambol.”

The game will kick –off at 2 p.m. to allow for the possibility of extra time.
