The Launch Of “Unsigned Live” A Stage For Local Talent

Local promoter, Unsigned Live will launch on Friday 16th November, live at The in Walkington, where local musicians are invited to showcase their talents at the venue’s open mic night which acts as a platform and learning experience for upcoming artists of any genre.

Unsigned Live is a group of individuals whose love of has brought together a team to support and promote East Yorkshire’s hidden musical talents.

Niki Clappison, owner of the Barn House in Walkington explains:

“It is a love of live music that has brought our team together. We welcome local artists to approach us and we will work to get their sound heard by a live audience. We have huge plans for Beverley’s music scene which will complement the folk and blues festivals that the town is becoming known for.”

“The open mic night is an intimate experience and we have a variety of singers from rock, country, folk, electro and more. Whilst some of the singers give covers their own twist, most of the music is original and until now has never been heard outside their own group of friends. Unsigned Live will give these talented a platform.”

Event host, Laura Douse is one of the founder members of Unsigned Live, also guitarist and vocalist of the band Sea of Wires. Laura Says:

“Unsigned Live is a not-for-profit organisation made up of band members, singers, an electro DJ, venue owner and a publicity manager. Over the coming months we have a series of events in and around East Yorkshire including the Beverley Christmas Lights switch on event on 30th November and we are planning a festival for next summer.”

The launch of Unsigned Live takes place at the Barn House Walkington on Friday 16th November from 7pm till late. Performers are welcome to come along and sing up to three songs.
