Olympic Gold Medalist To Light Up Beverley This Christmas

No stranger to ceremonies, Olympic gold medalist Luke Campbell has been confirmed as the special celebrity guest who has been given the responsibility of the switch-on for the Beverley Christmas Lights Group ceremony this year, in the town’s Wednesday Market.

QualitySolicitors Lockings who are the main sponsors of this year’s event, selected Luke Campbell to turn on the lights in Wednesday Market and to present the winners prizes for the Christmas Tree colouring competition, which is run by the Beverley Christmas Lights Group. Managing Partner of QualitySolicitors Lockings, Richard Allen says:

“With the Olympics being such a phenomenal part of 2012 we thought it would be a great opportunity for an inspirational personality to turn on the lights and who better than Luke Campbell. It will give the people in Beverley a chance to celebrate an Olympic gold medal winning local hero.

As a service provider in the town, it is important for us to work with the local community and we are proud to be sponsoring the event. To encourage public interest we have invited Luke to Beverley and I’m sure the town will turn out in force, not only for an Olympic medallist but for the fantastic Christmas lights display too.”

The Beverley Christmas Lights switch on will take place on Friday 30th November, activities will be going on in Wednesday Market and all shops will be open late night shopping.
