Beverley Skincare Doctor Launches New Treatment To Address Adult Acne

A respected Beverley skincare doctor is addressing the increase of adult facial acne in women with the launch of a new integrative treatment.

A published author of several scientific papers including facial acne in adult women, Dr. Katerina Steventon offers natural Deep Cleansing treatments as a prevention against pre-menstrual breakouts from a consulting room at the Barn House in Walkington.

Explaining why she has launched the new treatment, clinical biochemist and Dr. Steventon said; “The incidence of acne amongst adolescents (80%) is well documented but less is known about adult acne that affects up to 40 – 55 % of women up until their 50s and is on the increase. Facial acne is difficult to hide and can badly affect ’s quality of life and self-esteem. Acne can have a long-term negative psychological impact on the sufferer and not everyone wants to address the problem of mild acne with medication.”

Dr Steventon continued; “In Germany, collaborative links exist between a dermatologist and beauty therapist and I am trying to replicate the model here. Physiological acne – spots and blemishes – is a milder form of clinical acne where medication is usually unnecessary and appropriate treatment and skincare can better address the condition. I use my skin science and beauty therapy experience to offer a Deep Cleanse acne treatment that includes a specific extraction technique, skincare and dietary advice.”

Commenting on the treatment, a satisfied 30 year old client said; “I cannot recommend Katerina highly enough. I had beautiful skin for my day and continue to have regular facials and consultations with Katerina. I would urge anyone who is not happy with their complexion to try Katerina, I feel I have wasted a lot of money over the years on facials where you are encouraged to buy products from a specific range rather than ones that would suit your skin. Katerina’s well informed approach is refreshingly different.”

The45 minute Deep Cleanse treatment costs £45 For more information or to book an appointment, please call Dr. Steventon on 01482 863807.

Before establishing an independent skincare consultancy in 2009, Dr. Steventon’s experience spanned several years and continents – from prestigious skincare brand La Prairie in her native Czech Republic to Shiseido in Japan and Smith and Nephew wound healing in Hull.
