First Beverley Real Ale Festival Is A Sell Out Success!

The first ever Real Ale and Cider Festival takes took place last weekend with tremendous support from the local community. Nearly 2000 poeple attended the event which took place in the magnificent surroundings of St Marys Church in Beverley.

Guests were able to sample world-class ales from local producers, including Great Newsome Brewery, Wold Top, Brass Castle and Big River Brewery alongside top entertainment from some of the regions finest acts.

The opening night sold out more than 2 weeks ago clearly demonstrating the towns excitement for the festival and this trend continued throughout the Saturday with the venue reaching capacity at just 2.30 in the afternoon.

The atmosphere within the festival was quite special with many punters stepping foot in the church for the very first time.

Talks are already underway for next year’s festival and St Marys Church is keen to again play host, Event organiser James Harper said:

“For both Paul and myself we have been totally taken back by the sheer support for this first festival for Beverley.”

“All the people who attended were just brilliant – everyone respected the building, the volunteers working on the bars were amazing and the positive feedback we received made it all worthwhile. ”

“We can announce with some certainty that the festival will become an annual event and we will be talking with St Mary’s and the Town Council to set an appropriate date for next year.”

“We have even had 2 new sponsors contact us about being part of next years event!
