Freshers Week : The Student Pocket Guide

Freshers week is upon us and for some, this means moving away from home and embarking on the first steps of true independence.

We caught up with , a former NUCA art student and Founder of The Student Pocket Guide, a multi award winnning national student magazine handed to students at the beginning of each student term.

“Moving to a new place which you are un-familiar with can be quite scary.”

“When I went to university I moved from London to Norwich and knew nothing about what Norwich had to offer. When I graduated, I realised there was a gap in the market to provide students with a guide which offered local information, tips and student advice to help improve your experience at university or college.”

“The Norwich publication was a success and so I rolled the concept out across the country. We’re now established in 22 cities covering England, Scotland and Wales. We’re a team of 8, mostly ex-students.”

“The magazine is 100 pages and contains a variety of content including student tips, cheap student recipes, advice, local student deals, discounts, competitions and interviews with .”

“The latest edition has exclusive interviews with Ed Sheeran, Devlin, and street magician, Damien O’Brien. There’s also a house party competition, which is free to enter.”
