LIFESTYLE 2012 : The Quirky Quads

Lifestyle team, The Quirky Quads that is made up of four girls from , Katie Elgey, Laura Kelly, and Maddie Scott have had a busy summer raising money for the Animal Welfare Trust.

The girls last year raised money for Yorkshire Cancer Research though this year opted to do something that helped animals. The Hull Animal Welfare Trust all well known locally providing rescue and re-homing animals service for 30 years.

In total, The Quirky Quads raised £491.07 by washing cars, bag packing at Herons in Beverley, dog walking, singing and dancing. Their efforts also included them collecting outside the Morrisons store where they collect hundreds of pounds worth of food.

The girls said, “We thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Lifestyle Project and enjoyed working together, by giving up some of our time hopefully it has raised awareness and much-needed funds and donations for the charity at the same time.”

Katie Elgey, Laura, Hollie and MaddieThey also want to say a BIG thank-you to everyone who gave donations to their chosen charity.

They added, “Everybody was really kind; we couldn’t believe how generous everybody was. We would also like to say a thank Morrisons and Heron’s in Beverley and all of their customers.”

After all their efforts, the girls visited Hull Animal Welfare Trust centre armed with two-car boots full of pet food and shown around by Sue Champlain.
