Who Cares, Wins – Humber NHS Search For A Caring Star

At this year’s Annual Members’ Meeting (AMM) on 20 September, Humber NHS Foundation Trust will once again be presenting staff awards to those individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in delivering an excellent service and to those who have done something that extra bit special. They are looking for help from the public to nominate a member of staff for the Who Cares, Wins award.

Every year at the AMM (formerly the AGM), Chairman Jane Fenwick personally awards a single member of staff for a particular shining quality, recognising someone who has gone out of their way in providing outstanding care and support with the prestigious ‘Who Cares, Wins’ award.

Last year the award went to Marjorie Brabazon, a highly dedicated individual who worked with patients from Westlands acute inpatient unit and involved them in developing Reach , a publication aimed at women, for women. Marjorie displayed huge energy and commitment to involving patients and really worked well with them to speed up their recovery.

For this year’s winner, the Trust is asking for help from members of the public in recognising who is most deserving of the title. To nominate a member of staff that you feel really went that extra mile in helping you, a friend or family member then go to www.humber.nhs.uk/who_cares_wins. You can also phone the Chairman’s office on 01482 389107 or write to Jane Fenwick at Trust Headquarters, Willerby Hill, Beverley Road, Willerby HU10 6ED.

The closing date for nominations is Friday 17 August, 2012. Members of the public are welcome to attend the AMM, which starts at 12.30pm and will be held at the Country Park Inn, Hessle. It’s your chance to find out more about health services in your area and the Trust’s plans for the future. Tea and coffee will be provided.
