Gym For Non Exercisers Opens in Beverley

A Gym with a difference has opened its doors in Beverley. Gymophobics is a 30 minute ladies-only facility that specialises in figure improvement and helping women to lose weight. Unlike conventional Gyms, Gymophobics caters for women of all ages – from Teens to women in their 80s.

Owned and operated by Sarah Evans the new facility is part of a nationwide chain of franchised Gyms. Sarah has been operating a Gymophobics franchise in for the past five years, and its success has convinced her of the need for a Gymophobics in Beverley.

“Although there are many conventional gyms around these days they can be quite intimidating if you are not used to exercise. Most Gyms are mixed and attract mainly the under 35 age group.”

“At Gymophobics we cater for all ages even women in their 50s and beyond as well as teenage weight problems. Most of our members will have never exercised before, and they love the personal attention that we give them.”

“Our circuit is easy to cope with too. We use ‘Air’ operated equipment, which is much easier to use than the weight machines which most gyms have and the whole body is exercised in just 30 minutes. For people with busy lives this is a big attraction.”

“Each Gymophobics is a beautifully feminine environment far removed from the many rather sterile, masculine dominated gyms that can be found in most towns. We look after our members like VIPs. They are not a number, and we know them all by name.”

Following a full consultation to determine their goals, each member receives a personal programme, and this is upgraded every few weeks. Results can be amazing! Most ladies lose a dress size in the first few weeks and in just a few months most achieve their goals.

They attend three times per week, and each session is by appointment so unlike a conventional facility. Gymophobics is never overcrowded and there is no waiting around for attention.

Sarah is particularly proud of her staff.

“Our Instructors go through a rigorous and ongoing training programme at the Company’s National Training Academy in Stafford and are carefully selected to reflect the age of our members.”

“Most Instructors in conventional gyms seem to be youngsters, which means that they have little empathy with older women.”

“We ensure that our staff come in all ages, and that they understand what it is like to have low self esteem and a weight problem. For members who need to diet, we introduce them to our 54321 Food Plan, which is probably the easiest diet they will ever have followed.”

“To be honest, it is more of an ‘eat & grow slim’ plan and no one goes hungry when on it, that’s for sure!”

“Not all Gymophobics members have a weight problem of course. Many attend to keep their figure in good shape, and some attend for the health benefits.”

“30 minutes a day is all it takes to reduce the risk of cardio vascular disease, diabetes and high blood pressure, so a regular gym session plus a good walk on the days in between is all it takes to change your life for the better,” says Sarah.

She adds,

“Our programme will double your energy level, increase your strength and make you look and feel years younger. If anyone doubts that it works they should visit our web site and see the results that our members achieve for themselves.”

There are no showers to negotiate at Gymophobics, no mirrors and no one posing either. You can wear what you want within reason and there are no treadmills or rowing machines to cope with. No aerobic dance classes to negotiate either.

The unique Gymophobics circuit was the brainchild of former swimmer and was designed to make exercise fun.

“I don’t care how unfit you may think you are,” says Donna, “You will love Gymophobics. There is no deafening rock music playing and no one watches TV screens. Instead, we encourage our members to chat and enjoy each other’s company.”

“Our members make lots of friends because Gymophobics is a great social environment, and our unique 30-minute workout called Resisted Tension takes the work out of the workout”

Resisted Tension is the first workout in the UK to have been awarded a Trade Mark. By combining Isometric (muscle squeezing exercise) with their ‘air’ resistance machines, Resisted Tension is fun yet it gets fast results and does not involve training like an athlete. Members describe it as the easiest workout they have ever done.

To join the Gymophobics family is easy. Call along for a free guest visit to find out more and talk to a consultant. If you decide to join you will find a membership to suit. Prices range from less than a £1 per day for unlimited use and there are discounts for teenagers too.
