Beverley Braves Get Back On Track By Beating All Blacks

under 10’s got back to wining ways with a 34-18 victory over All Blacks at the Beverley Leisure Centre. The Braves scored six tries and kicked five goals in an entertaining game with Luke Dobbie scoring a try and a goal on his debut.

The Braves went 6-nil up after a period of All Blacks pressure, he took a kick from the Hull side on the sixth tackle and raced the full length of the pitch to touchdown and then converted his own try.

Hull All Blacks soon were level with a try from close range but it was Dobbie’s try and goal that took Beverley back into the lead when he squeezed in at the corner.

Wallis got his second after taking a pass from Lewis Egan who had another strong game before having to leave the pitch with an arm injury. William Kirkup converted to make it 18-6.

Oliver Loney was top tackler and with his partner in crime, Ethan Oshin, made good yards with the ball in hand. With Egan off the field Ryan Deane took one of the half back roles alongside Tom Marr and had a great game being involved in two of the tries and putting in his best stint of tackling this season, a performance that won him the man of the match award.

All Blacks were always in the game and a further try made it 18-12 at half-time.

The try scoring in the second half all belonged to George Lees with a hat trick all scored in the right hand corner, two of which were converted by Tom Newton and Ethan Rowbotham.

The All Blacks were restricted to just one further score in the second half thanks in part to a great defensive effort and strong running from the likes of Thomas Cohen, Matthew Hutchinson and Tom Sparkes.

Final Score: Beverley Braves 34 Hull All Blacks 18
