Beverley Town Council Grants Applications Now Being Taken

Through its Grants Committee, Beverley Town Council has been able to support a wide range of projects, run by local groups and societies, all of which benefit of the town’s residents. However demand for support has been so healthy that the allocated funds were exhausted before the end of the financial year. To prevent this happening again Councillors have decided to make a few changes.

The maximum grant available will be capped at £3,000, so more projects can be supported and instead of four meetings the Grants Committee will convene twice per year, on 11th June and 12th November, to consider applications.

“We want to continue to help the many groups who have such a positive and constructive influence on the life of the town”, said Councillor , Chair of the Grants Committee.

“Simplifying the timetable will give groups and organisations clear deadlines to help them focus and plan their applications. But we may have to prioritise if demand exceeds supply, as it did this year. Our first meeting of the new financial year will be on 11th June.”

Any group seeking support for a project should send in their completed application forms before 25th May for the June meeting and the 26th October for the November meeting.

Guidelines and further information about Beverley Town Council Grant application forms can be obtained from the Town Clerk, Ms or the Assistant Town Clerk Mrs Carol Oliver at the Town Council Office on 01482 874096 or email clerk@beverley.gov.uk.
