Jessie Palmer Wins Battle Of The Beauties!

Jessie Palmer a criminology student from Hull was crowned 2012. She will now go on to represent the city at the prestigious Miss England Semi Finals in May.

This was Jessie 6th pageant, she has placed many times as runner up or top three and she was thrilled to finally take to the top prize! Jessie spoke of her win saying “I’m thrilled to have won the title Miss Hull and be a good role model for the city. Doing pageants has given me so much confidence I used to be really shy and reserved and its really helped me combat this”

Jessie beat off competition from 23 other beautiful finalists. They all competed over four rounds, Interview, Casual wear, Eco Wear an outfit created by the contestants using recyclable materials and the Traditional Evening Wear. Judges for the competition included Alistair Cook from Touch Up Cook Hair, Laura Greendale The Femail Edition, Cally Beech Miss Hull and District 2012 and Adrian Cornelius from the Joshua Foundation. Alistair said ” We were looking for an all rounder someone who ticked all the boxes” Cally said ” She was hoping to find someone who really shone on stage and had that special something”

Awards were also given out on the evening Miss Charity Hull went to Emily Mann who raised over £400 for the Joshua Foundation. Miss Eco Hull went to Jazzmin Ullah as she was judges favourite in the Eco wear round. Miss Congeniality went to Amber Leape, this award was voted for by her fellow contestants.

In 5th Place was Katrina Ienco, 4th Place went to Jade Clay, 3rd Place was Lucy Heath and Runner up went to Sammi Dixon. Sammi said “I am so happy to have placed runner up at my first pageant, Jessie was a worthy winner. I’ve had so much fun and think I’ve caught the pageant bug, they are so much fun, not bitchy like you always see in the films!’

Jessie is now preparing for the Miss England Competition and is hoping to do so much with her title. Jessie would like to do as much fundraising as possible throughout her year as Miss Hull. One of Jessie’s first duties this year will be helping judge and find Miss Teen Hull with her interviewing the girls on the 22nd April.
