United Come From Behind To Beat Town At Norwood

Beverley Town can count themselves unlucky after they were beaten 2 – 1 by United at the Norwood Recreation Ground.

In an even contest Town came closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half with an effort that hit the post. Midway through the second half Eddie Birch popped up to give Beverley Town the lead.

With less than 15 minutes in the match United scored twice, one a deflected goal and the other from a well worked set play.

Coach Ross Cording said;

“I felt we were in control of the game and were very unlucky today. The header they scored from the set play a was a great goal, the deflection was really hard to take.”

“We were forced to make a lot of changes today as players were required by other sides at Beverley Town FC and that did not help.”

Man of the match was given to Dave Walton, the teams manager was given the accolade for his conduct on the touchline.

Ross said;

“Dave was really good today, he was calm and did not shout at the match officials once!”

Town stay in fifth spot in the , next weekend they have big ask as they travel to to face second placed AFC Reckitts.
