Ogino Brings Japanese Food To The Capital Of East Yorkshire

A new Japanese Restaurant is set to bring authentic dishes from each of the four islands of Japan to the heart of .

Reiko and Julian Ogino-Stamford selected Beverley as the perfect location for their new venture, Ogino, after researching various locations.

“We settled on Beverley as it has a busy town centre, and we also felt more tourists were drawn to the town than to Hull.” says Julian.

Ogino is their first restaurant to open in the UK. However, Julian wife’s family have a chain of six successful bistros in her home city of Toyokawa which is located in the eastern part of the Aichi Prefecture in the central region of Japan.

For the first four to six weeks Ogino will offer what they describe as a ‘soft menu’ before launching into a full complement of dishes. Julian is keen to make the right impression and ensure everything is running smoothly. Ogino, which is located on Butchers Row between and Marks & Spencers, will be offering a fusion of traditional and modern Japan cuisine.

“The food we will be serving will be based on traditional Japanese dishes from the all four of the Islands, with a modern twist.” says Julian. “We have had a few calls already and that is before we have done any .  Someone asked if we did teppanyaki, but that’s not our style.”

Dine on the ROWE are pleased to see the arrival of Ogino to Beverley. “Variety is the spice of life, the opening of a Japanese Restaurant in Beverley will certainly bring more people and enforce its status as a place to eat out”, Restaurant manager Andrew Jackson told HU17.net.

Tonight Ogino will open their doors for the first time as a they hold a private party made up of guests and associates. They have already received bookings for Friday 30th March, which is the first night they officially open their doors to the public.
