Raising The Stakes To Support School

The Friends of Longcroft School (FOLS) are working with the to run a Casino Night to raise funds for the school.

The event takes place on Saturday 24th March, 7pm until late at the Beverley Arms.

Sheenagh Rollison, Chair of FOLS, explained:

“In past years this has proved to be a really popular event and it is always one of our biggest fundraiser. All the money we make through the Casino Night and other events goes towards providing resources for the school that might not otherwise be afforded.”

“For example, a recent grant to FOLS from the school librarians has enabled eight ‘Kindles’ to be purchased, which will be used to help get students enthusiastic about reading through using new technology. We have also allocated funding to upgrade the Sixth Form Social Area and provided additional equipment and resources for a range of subject areas.”

“We hope to attract a good crowd that will not only have a fantastic evening, but also raise funds that make all the difference to the students.”

The Casino itself will be run by the Beverley Lions, who provide this service to help local organisations and charities to raise funds. On the their support, Sheenagh said:

“Once again it’s great to be working with the Beverley Lions, who for many years have worked hard to help raise charitable funds. With their experience of running casino events, we are sure it will be a well-organised and entertaining evening. We want people to come along, relax, enjoy the evening and raise some funds for Longcroft at the same time.”

Tickets are £25 each and the price includes casino chips, a buffet supper and disco. The evening will also include a raffle and other fundraising activities. If you would like more information or to purchase tickets, contact Sheenagh on fols@longcroft.eriding.net or call 07884 001465.
