Police Appeal After 10 Vehicles Have Tyres Attacked In Beverley

have received 10 reports of vehicles being attacked with offenders slashing the vehicle tyres in the Model Farm Estate in last week.

The incidents were on:
• Lime Tree Avenue, Beverley between 2300hrs on Monday 28 November and 0900hrs on Thursday 15 December 2011 an offender attacked the tyres on a 5 series saloon and a Fiat hatchback.
• Highfield Road, Beverley between 1700hrs on Sunday 11 December and 1900hrs on Wednesday 14 December 2011 two tyres of a red coloured Ford Fiesta were slashed.
• Chestnut Avenue, Beverley between 2200hrs on Wednesday 14 December and 0900hrs on 15 December 2011 an offender damaged the tyres on a maroon coloured Vauxhall Corsa.
• Maple Drive, Beverley between 2100hrs on Tuesday 13 December and 0730hrs on Wednesday 14 December 2011 an offender attacked the tyres on a blue coloured Ford Transit van.
• Highfield Road, Beverley between 2100hrs on Tuesday 13 December and 0800hrs on Wednesday 14 December 2011 two tyres of a Renault Clio were slashed.
• Lowfield Road, Beverley between 1800hrs on Tuesday 13 December and 0745hrs on Wednesday 14 December 2011 an offender attacked the tyres on a silver coloured Suzuki Liana.
• Lime Tree Avenue, Beverley between 1745hrs on Tuesday 13 December and 0715hrs on Wednesday 14 December 2011 two tyres of a blue coloured Ford Focus were slashed.
• Lime Tree Avenue, Beverley between 1845hrs and 1930hrs on Wednesday 14 December 2011 the tyres on a Mutsubishi Carisma were attacked.
• Lime Tree Avenue, Beverley between 2100hrs on Wednesday 14 December and 0800hrs on Thursday 15 December 2011 a black coloured Ford KA had two tyres attacked.

The covering the Beverley St Mary’s Ward is investigating each report and enquiries are being made to identify those responsible.

However the NPT are appealing to residents in the area to be vigilant especially during the hours of darkness and report any suspicious behaviour near vehicles to police immediately.

PC Martin PEPPER, the Neighbourhood Beat Officer for the ward said: ‘It would appear that the vehicles are being targeted as a result of parking ‘half on – half off’ the footpaths and we strongly suspect that a local resident may be responsible. We are making all attempts to identify the offender and bring them to justice.

“However we need the local public to help and would urge anyone with information about the offences or who may be responsible to contact Humberside Police on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 55 111.”
