Thousands of people descended upon Beverley for the Christmas Lights Switch on.
Mini events were held throughout the town in Wednesday Market, Angel Square, Saturday Market where Viking FM were broadcasting with the finale being at North Bar.
The event organised by the Beverley Christmas Lights Appeal also marked the start of the Wednesday Night late night shopping in the run up to Christmas.
Julian Minshall of the Beverley Christmas Lights Appeal said;
“The feedback from a cross section of the retailers is they have not known a late night like, fantastic.”
Local Kate Dalton said;
“North Bar looks amazing they have done a really good job on lighting it up, it is very pretty.”
The only thing missing was Santa Claus, it seemed very odd to be having a Christmas event without the big guy though John Bird has assured everyone he will be in Beverley for the Festival of Christmas later this month.
