  1. I wonder if Mr Stuart has any comment on the smoking ban, which continues to be a major factor into why local pubs up and down the country are going out of buisness?

Despite being a life-long non-smoker, I think there should be licensed smoking rooms in public houses that can fulfil certain criteria to provide an internal, ventilated room where smokers can enjoy a cigarette, cigar or pipe without it getting into other, smoke-free areas of the building. .. especially considering that smoking is a legal, tax-making habit for adults.

Across the country local pubs are calling last orders for the final time, not just because of the ban but also other factors. However, a practical way forward like this would go some way support them and show them that their Government is on their side.

Mr Stuart, do you think this (or another) practical way forward is something the Government should consider … or are you happy for this blanket ban on smoking in pubs to remain as one of the major factors in the downfall of the local pubs you claim to support?

  2. I think of greater concern is the way supermarkets sell Beer / Lager cheaper then bottled water, also the majority of our public houses are now owned by bean counting companies that make them all charge out at set prices, these companies don’t care about service just profit.
