East Riding Youth Summit To Be Held @ Beverley Minster

An will be held on Saturday 29th October at Beverley Minster between 10.00am-1.00pm.

This Free event is for young aged 15-25 and their church leaders, who are passionate about changing the face of the church. Mark Russell CEO of Church Army says:

“The church is wrinkling and shrinking; we are neither reaching nor discipling young people in significant numbers. The Church of England in many places has an average age of over 60, and the missing generations see the church as irrelevant and sidelined.”

The Youth Summit is headed by , Youth Minister at Beverley Minster, and Mark Tiddy, Youth Facilitator & Schools Worker for the South Hunsley Christian Trust. We want to provide an opportunity for the younger generation in the East Riding to have a voice, to say how they want to see the church change and adapt to a new generation, so that they can truly be part of it!

The Bishop of Hull Richard Frith will be present and he comments:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for young people, ministers and PCC members to come together and engage in discussion about how young people can be a growing part of our churches and I urge people to come along to the Youth Summit.”

The day will include worship, a key note address, discussions and an opportunity to ask church leaders questions. Free coffee and donuts will be available throughout.

We believe that young people are passionate about the church and that the message of Christ is as relevant to them today as it was with those 12 young men who originally followed (aka His disciples).

For more information, or to register your interest in coming along, please contact either: Lee Kirkby youth@beverleyminster.org.uk or Mark Tiddy marktiddy@hcyt.co.uk.

There is no need to book, just turn up!

We hope to see you there.
