Tribfest Set To Feature Top Folk Acts This Weekend

Tribfest 2011 East Yorkshire biggest festival not only includes top quality Tribute acts but further marquees for both Folk and Unsigned acts from across the country.

Over the weekend of August 19th – 21st music fans should take the opportunity to check out the folk and acoustic marquee as well as the main stage performers as some very talented and unique performers are on display at the festival at .

The marquee offers an open mike session on Friday afternoon where any festival goers have the opportunity to perform and then fifteen folk and acoustic acts from across the Country.

Music Exchange Folk Marquee offers a line up of various genres which includes the following: harriWattsband (pictured avove), Craig Vinnie Whitehead, Burnt Books, Band with No Name, Woodsmoke, Gary J Armstrong  , Happy Endings, Celtarabia, The Creek Cats, MyOneManBand – Phil Wilson, Armadillo, Jody McKenna Band, Belle Collective, and the Hull Ukulele Group.

Some of highlights include:
harriWattsband who will be performing self penned original material blending both contemporary and traditional singer-songwriter styles in various genre. harriWatts band are Yorkshires very own adopted troubadours.

Burnt Books who made an appearance on BBC Radio Humberside’s Introducing show. They now have an excellent live set and played a live radio session beamed from the Springboard Festival. They have supported national touring artists Wolfgang and Kyla La Grange

The Happy Endings who are an acoustic trio of siblings (Emma, Adam and Rachel Fee) They have performed many gigs in the local area and have recently been on Radio Humberside performing their material.

Celtarabia who are touring an unplugged version of their incredible and exciting world music this autumn working as a duo playing Hammered Dulcimer, Hurdy-Gurdy, Bag-pipes, Percussion and Cittern the duo create an exciting and highly unusual sound.

The Creek Cats who deliver a true intensity of sound in the rockabilly skiffle type genre. They have frantic vocals, driving guitar licks and melodic mandolin and banjo playing live on stage.

Belle Collective who are a young modern folk band from Hull. The band started in late 2009 and have already supported the likes of Mumford & Sons.
Hull Ukulele Group who are Hulls answer to The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain They strum pluck and twang whilst singing and performing songs from The Buzzcocks and Beatles to The Jungle Book.

Dave Watts Music Exchange Folk Marquee organiser said “This year offers once again an amazing selection of both local talent and a little beyond. The beauty of the Folk Marquee is the diverse genre range that we offer and people visit us every year for this very reason. Tribfest has something for everyone”

Tribfest is held August 19th – 21st at the Beverley Club at Tickton. 21 top tribute acts will be performing on the main stage and there will also be further marquees for folk acts, unsigned & comedy.
