Lifestyle group HMLTO Eco. (The EcoTeam 5 ) Harriette, Macie, Lynsey, Tia and Olivia, have printed a map of Beverley and are out and about with their litter pickers and hi-viz jackets.
They are doing their bit to improve the area in which they live.ERYC provided them with all the equipment they needed .Many members of the public have stopped to give words of encouragement as the team have picked up rubbish and broken glass in various streets around Beverley.
The team have already been doing environmently friendly projects. With the help of Mrs Burton , the school gardener ,and her sons, they cleared and renovated
the wildlife area in St. Mary’s school. They hope this area will be used to educate the pupils to take care of wildlife .They are now in the process of making mini beast cards for the pupils to use.They thought it was important to leave something for the remaining pupils as they are all now moving on to secondary school.
Another project they are all busy organising is to raise money for a local pre school group (Tree Tops) in the Cherry Tree Centre, to provide play equipment.
Some of the girls went to the pre school group at the age of 3, again they thought it would be a nice idea to give something back to the community.
