Over 20 Teams To Take Part In Beverley Town FC Golf Day

Beverley Town Football Club are running their fund raising golf day again this year, and interest has far exceeded expectations.

On Sunday 31st July over 20 teams will compete in teams of four at Hornsea Golf Club, one of the regions premier Golf Clubs.

The day provides both footballers and golfers the opportunity to come together to raise much needed funds for Beverley Town Football Club, one of the Towns most established clubs.

Local businesses have come together to support the day, with significant sponsorship from Beerhouse Self Drive, and donations from Murray Todd, David Jagger`s Golf Shop and even Yorkshire County Cricket Club.

“We have worked very hard as a club through the summer to give the club a sound financial base for the forthcoming season.”

“With 3 adult teams and a number of Junior teams it is a mammoth task to raise funds to keep the club running.”

“We rely heavily on fundraising events like this, and are extremely grateful to all those that have entered a team or donated prizes.”

“It is great to see that in difficult economic times people are still prepared to dig deep to support their local community football club.”

Beverley Town First Team Kick off the new Humber Premier League season on Saturday 20th August, and pre season training is well under way.

With friendly matches arranged against Barton Town, Hutton Cranswick and Old Malton, Town expect to hit the ground running.

Manager Dave Walton is looking to add 3 new players to the squad, and hopes to have the registration forms signed in the next 7 days.

Training takes place at Beverley Grammar School on Wednesday evenings at 6.15pm, anyone wishing to join in is welcome, simply come down on the night.

There are still a couple of spaces left for those wishing to enter a team in the fundraising golf day.
