Cougars Fire Nine Past Local Rivals

Josh Edgecombe fired home a hat-trick as Tickton Cougars beat 9-0 at Longcroft School’s 3G pitch last night.

Despite the scoreline, Molescroft battled gamely but couldn’t trouble The Cougars’ keeper , who was largely unemployed throughout the three ‘halfs’ of the game.

A large crowd enjoyed the on offer in the pre-season friendly ahead of the teams’ move from under 10s to under 11s football.

However , it was obvious from the off that The Cougars held all the aces and they romped home to take their unbeaten run to an incredible 42 games.

Joining Edgecombe in the goal-scoring fun were Dan Taylor, Tom Oxley, Milo Cook, Callum Wilkinson, Dan Hillison and Thomas Collingwood.

Manager Pip Pearson was impressed with his side’s performance.

He told .net: “I could not fault our lads in any way. The football we play is, at times, different class and it is great to see the lads put into practice what they have learnt off the pitch.

“We gelled well as a team. The only downside is that you don’t get a chance to see our keeper Isaac Galloway as he never gets much to do.

“It’s a shame as he is one of our best players.

“I was really chuffed for Josh. He joined us after finding it difficult to get a game at his previous club and he is coming on in leaps and bounds.”
