Rushby Raises Game To Claim Sunshine Victory At Darley Moor

Young Beverley motorcyclist Jordan Rushby enjoyed a storming performance in his latest races this weekend.

He claimed a magnificent first place and then second place finish at Darley Moor in the fourth round of the F125cc Class Championship, before finishing first in class and sixth overall in the more powerful 400/1000cc class.

The weather couldn’t have been better for racing and in the morning qualifying session Jordan set the tone for the day.

He set a new personnel best lap time of 1min13.41 sec, two seconds better than his previous best and enough to qualify in second alongside reigning champion Dave Carson, who was two seconds quicker than Jordan in qualifying.

In the first race Jordan got off to a good start off the line and was lapping at roughly the same pace as Carson.

And with two laps to go, Jordan got his lap times down to 1min11.84 sec and was now running in first place.

He managed to hold onto to first over the line, much to his delight, finishing approximately three bike lengths in front of Carson to claim his first ever class win at Darley Moor.

Race two started just after lunch, with the temperature now a sapping 26 degrees.

Jordan got off to a good start again and managed to take the lead from the start, setting the fastest lap of the race of 1min10.55 sec.

With one lap to go Jordan was still running in first place but as he approached the slower back markers Carson showed his quality to take first place, finishing less than a tenth of a second in front of Jordan.

Jordan also competed in the New-comers race, finishing first in his class and sixth place overall against the much more powerful 400/1000cc machines.
