DuBoulay Efforts Not Enough To Save Beverley Town Seconds

It was a chastening day for Beverley Town 2nd XI at home to Whitkirk on Saturday.

They were beaten by eight wickets and never recovered from a poor start to their innings.

Although the build-up to the weekend had seen heavy rain dampen the outfield on the main pitch at the , the pitch was reported to be as good for batting as usual.

So it was a surprise when Beverley found themselves in deep trouble batting first, only DuBoulay and helping them reach some level of respectability.

DuBoulay hit 38 and Parnaby 27, but Beverley were still well behind where they should be and finished on 146 all out.

Such a total never posed a problem for the visitors.

They cruised to victory, reaching 149-2 for a 30 point victory. Beverley dropped to sixth in the league, with Whitkitk leapfrogging them.
