Beverley Minster: Talking to the World, And Listening

Minster is making sure it can serve a world-wide congregation with a new, interactive website.

Designed by local (Woodmansey) firm WebOrchard, which is based in one of the parishes connected with the Minster, the new website is intended to make it easy for everyone to find out the nuts and bolts of life in the church as well as communicate with staff and clergy.

vicar Rev. said: “As the modern world increasingly relies on electronic communications it is vital that the church is not left behind. As one of the largest and busiest parish churches in the country we hope we can pioneer a new platform to let people know what is happening, what we are saying and how they can get involved.”

The new, interactive part of the website will enable visitors to request prayers to be said at daily services, read texts of sermons and copies of Minster publications, to book rooms and follow Youth events.

The website will also have up-to-date information about everything from the menu for the next shoppers’ lunch, dates for forthcoming and details of all associated groups and organisations.

“Some people say the church is out of touch,” said Jeremy: “but we are reaching out in every way we can to prove that isn’t true.”

The new website is found at www.beverleyminster.org.uk
