Carlitos Spirit To Lead The Way At Beverley Races

Local trainer Ian McInnes has three horses at today, all in with a strong chance of earning him his third winner of the season.

But the pick of his horses is Carlitos Spirit in the Marshal Tyres Handicap (3pm) over seven furlongs.

McInnes also saddles Powerful Pierre in the same race, but Carlitos Spirit, owned by Wold Construction Company, has already shown his pedigree this season on the when finishing second over a furlong further to Violent Velocity last month.

Ridden by Gary Bartley, Carlitos Spirit has the prime inside draw and will definitely benefit from the drop in distance.

Popular jockey Silvestre de Sousa can add to his impressive record this season.

De Sousa has already ridden 35 winners in 2011 and looks likely to add to that today on Hal Of A Lover in the three-year-old Rotalla Tyres Handicap (4pm).

The David O’Meara trained horse had a shocker last time out at Beverley but has already shown she has improved greatly when finishing second to the impressive Mojolika over two furlongs further at Redcar last time out.
