Beverley Minster & Woodmansey Update for April 2011

1.Priority  Issue: Anti Social Behaviour – Swinemoor Estate

The weather has been fantastic during the month of April which can normally result in an increase in anti social behaviour on the estate. The hot weather tends to see an increase in the consumption of alcohol and noisy parties. We have also had multiple bank holiday weekends within the month including the extra bank holiday for the . Although noise nuisance is not a Police matter and falls within the remit of the East Riding Environmental Health department we will try and assist if issues are happening on a regular basis. We continue to work closely with the ERYC Housing department regarding anti social behaviour. All Council tenancy contracts include an acceptable behaviour agreement within and we will take positive action against those that ignore the warnings. Having walked around the estate and spoken to a lot of residents in the last month it would appear that the majority of people are happy with issues at the moment stating it is quiet.

PC Matthews is currently dealing with several youths that have been causing a few minor issues on the estate over the last couple of months one of which we will be looking to issue with an Anti Social Behaviour Order. We are also looking to impose two drink banning orders on two youths from the Swinemoor Estate. This falls as part of the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 and we will look to impose drinking bans on the individuals stopping there consumption of alcohol in public places which in the past has led to them becoming involved in anti social behaviour.
