Beverley Colonel Commits to Armed Forces Day

Plans are well under way for Beverley’s third , with more members of the military confirmed.

The event will start at 9am on Sunday 3 July, finishing at 5pm.

One of the main military contributors to the event this year will be elements of A Company of 4th Battalion, The , who are based at Wolfe Armoury down Norwood Far Grove.

In another local link, the Commanding Officer of the 4th Battalin is Lieutenant Colonel Ian Crowley MC, a Beverley lad.

Lieutenant Colonel Ian Crowley MC is a former pupil of St Nicholas Primary and Beverley Grammar Schools.

Beverley Armed Forces Day has launched a facebook group to keep people informed of their plans and to give people a contact point if they wish to be involved. Emails can be sent to BeverleyAFD@groups.facebook.com.

Councillor told .net: “We are looking for volunteers and sponsorship as funding from grants has been halved this year. No amount is too small to donate if you wish to help please get in touch.

“If you can ask your boss to help we are willing to offer publicity through .”
