Forthcoming Lectures @ The Treasure House

Forthcoming lectures this month, organised by the council’s museums service and held in the , Beverley, are as follows:

Thursday 7 April

Coins, Tokens and ‘Funny Money’ by Dr. , museums registrar.  A look at coinage and other coin-like artefacts in the East Riding museum service’s collections.

Thursday 14 April

Reuben Chappell and other Pierhead Painters by Janet Tierney, curator of Goole Museum.  Shipping in the 19th and early 20th centuries through paintings.

Thursday 21 April

Mistresses of Burton Constable Hall by Dr. Gerardine Mulcahy, curator of Beverley Art Gallery.  An account of the rich and varied women who have been mistresses at Burton Constable Hall near Hull from the 16th century to the 20th century.

All lectures start at 6pm and will last approximately one hour.  The lectures will be held in the Edcuation Room at the Treasure House, Champney Road, Beverley.  The fee for each lecture is £6.  Bookings can be made either by telephone, by ringing the booking service on (01482) 392706/392699 or online at www.eastriding.gov.uk/events
