St Johns School to Open Monday After Volunteers Clear Snow

St John of Beverley School will open on Monday morning thanks to parents, staff and school governors.

Head teacher Mrs Rogerson explained;

“We used our text messaging service to ask for help in clearing snow from the driveway and paths within the school grounds. The response was fantastic. Parents, staff and governors, armed with spades and shovels, joined our school caretaker, Mr Chatwin, at 12 noon today Sunday and set to work.”

“In just over an hour the whole area was sufficiently cleared to enable the school to re-open tomorrow. This reflects the high level of support we can rely on from our school community. We are very grateful for the efforts of all concerned.”
