West Hull too Strong for Braves

On a cold, crisp morning the Braves had a tough match ahead of them against a well organised side.

newcomer Danny Dawson took the ball well for his first touch and a strong run from gained valuable yards into the oppositions half. A loose ball from West Hull was picked up cleanly under pressure from Kurt Pelham and the following play was a joy to watch as fast hands down the line through James McGahey and Zak Mayo to Owen Harrison who drew the player to execute a pin point pass for Wardill to run and force his way over to score a text book team try in the corner. This is what Beverley do so well and even the top teams cannot stop them on this form.

West Hull then scored two tries, one of which was converted. At the interval Beverley were still in the game at 10-4.

The second half the well organised Hull defence kept Beverley well in their own half and the Braves could not penetrate the West Hull wall. West Hull increased their lead soon after with a couple of tries and the game was taken away from Beverley’s grasp.

Players from Beverley still dug deep and Clifford inspired his team with crunching tackles. Callum Officer had some tremendous runs and Tom Wood tackled well. Sadly though West Hull kept the play down the middle and the Braves could not beat the awesome defence this time.

Man of the match Clifford was a worthy recipient.
