Helping Hand To Prepare For University

Anyone who is preparing for university or another form of higher education can get a helping hand by joining ’s Bite Size study skills courses.

These level four (A-levels are level three) short courses last for six weeks and give participants valuable preparation for the higher education style of writing, researching and studying.

Anyone who successfully completes the courses will earn 10 university credits which are validated by the University of and which will give extra weight to an application to study at university.

The first Bite Size course will start on Wednesday, November 10, from 1pm to 4pm at the College’s campus in Gallows Lane, Beverley. It will then run for the following five consecutive Wednesdays.

Assistant director Alison Gray said: “Starting any kind of degree course can be daunting but our short courses really help you prepare for the next level and develop your academic writing and study skills. “Our helpful and supportive tutors are on hand to support you every step of the way.

The course is free for existing students at East Riding College and costs £75 for all others. Further Bite Size courses will be held over the next 10 months.
